Week 2 review (10/12/2008): Defining the project - Client survey analysis and web design brief

Well, there was a lot of information covered in the interview with the client. The assignment for week 2 is to summarize the client meeting discussion and begin thinking about a web design brief. You can post your summaries to the class list, under "Overview of Presentation", or email to mp402@googlegroups.com?subject=re: Overview of Presentation. that Stacie Krueger started. Each team also has their own email list/discussion forum in their Google Group that they can use to collaborate.

This week's reading assignment is Chapter 3 (p. 40-64) which reviews the project discovery we covered in Week 2's class, and Chapter 10 which covers competitive analysis. There are also documents to help with your web design brief; a brief worksheet from the book (commbrief_wksht.pdf) and an example business brief from Adaptive Path (business_brief.doc). I have also provided a web design brief template (project_brief_tmpl.doc) that the teams can use. We will spend some time at the next class reviewing the project scope. And if you are really keen, you can start working on the competitive analysis using the template (competitive_analysis.xls)!
